Guest Speakers:
Name of Speaker: Glad Bryce
Introduced By: Bob Koski
Thanked By: Kris Sachdeva
Speaker’s Remarks:
Glad Bryce has written a book about the women who joined the Air Force during the second world war. Through exhaustive interviews she told individual stories of many of the 17,000 women who joined up. None of the women were pilots . Most were technicians. There were 6 skilled trades when the war started that soared to 69 skill trades at the height of the war.. Known as the "WDs" or women's division of the RCAF. When the war was over they were given money, or a plot of land or further education when they were released
This was an interesting talk about a topic that very few people knew about. She was selling her book for $35. Several Rotarians bought the book at the end of the evening.
IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT, MAKE UP : Pat Dyck, our Club Secretary has a Rotary International Directory of all Rotary Clubs in the world, when and where they meet. Or you can go online at www.rotary.org and find a club or clubs near your destination.
