THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

Rotary Code of Conduct provides a framework for ethical behaviour that all Rotarians can use, together with The Four-Way Test, in their business and professional activities.

As a Rotarian, I will
Exemplify the core value of integrity in all behaviours and activities
Use my vocational experience and talents to serve in Rotary
Conduct all of my personal, business, and professional affairs ethically, encouraging and fostering high ethical standards as an example to others
Be fair in all dealings with others and treat them with the respect due to them as fellow human beings
Promote recognition and respect for all occupations which are useful to society
Offer my vocational talents: to provide opportunities for young people, to work for the relief of the special needs of others, and to improve the quality of life in my community
Honour the trust that Rotary and fellow Rotarians provide and not do anything that will bring disfavour or reflect adversely on Rotary or fellow Rotarians
Not seek from a fellow Rotarian a privilege or advantage not normally accorded others in a business or professional relationship

The District 7070 Assembly is May 23. All incoming board members encouraged to attend. The club covers your admission.
Part I of Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) will be held at the Assemble. All members (especially new members & board members) are expected to attend, and the club covers your tuition.
The Great Lakes Annual Cleanup is April 25 from 10 am-noon. We would like 20 volunteers from the club to join the fun. Family and friends can join in the event.

New Member Induction
“Welcome Sudeep Oommen”
Dave Andrews introduced our newest member Sudeep Oommen. While Sudeep. Is new to our club, his connection to Rotary is deep. He started his Rotary journey in 2014 with RC of Ajax. In 2017 he transferred to the RC of Woodbridge to be closer to his office. He has held several leadership positions. At Woodbridge he was President (2019 & 2020), Secretary in 2021, and Foundation Chair in 2022. At the District level Sudeep was AG 2022, 2023 & 2024. and served on the District Conference Committee in 2022 & 2024. Sudeep is married to Sarah and has two children. He is a recruiting executive for Sun Life.
Our Speaker: Milissa O’Conner for the Redemption House of Recovery
In her very emotional presentation, Milissa spoke of how Redemption House helped her son recover from his addictions. She explained that, while RHOR was founded on Christian principles, it is an inclusive program that includes pretreatment support helping individuals select the treatment option best for them. Pretreatment takes 2-12 weeks. Post treatment options include both men’s and women’s recovery homes. Here residents live in a recovery-focused environment that fosters accountability, encouragement, and stability. The Region of Durham is their primary funding source. But RHOR also relies on individual and community support. One of the things RHOR is proud of is the staff all have lived experience with addiction. RHOR is a licensed treatment program that helps people work towards independent, sober living. Milissa showed two short videos. The most moving one was a video of her own experiences. Rotarian Al Finnigan thanked Milissa for her work and for her presentation.
