Oct. 16, 2025 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
WORLD POLIO DAY 2025 - LIVE Broadcast from Oshawa, Ontario, CANADA
ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2025 - 07:00 pm to 8:15 pm - the 10 Durham Region Rotary Clubs invite YOU to join us LIVE ON-LINE where we will celebrate World Polio Day with leaders from around the world, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Oshawa and Oshawa-Parkwood, and Durham College.
This year will be on-line only. Next year we will be back at the Rotary Global Classroom at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario.
It is crucial that you register online this year. We expect over 100 to be on the call. If that is the case, we will have to increase the viewers that our District Zoom account can handle. Your help in this matter is really very much appreciated.
Starting at 7 PM, District 7070 will broadcast our event LIVE to Rotary Clubs and to the public, around the world and to Universities and colleges worldwide.
There will be Proclamations from Cities in Durham Region and also from Durham Region given out to our 10 Rotary clubs together with flag raising ceremonies shown on the big screen.
WE ARE INVITING ROTARY'S WORLD LEADERS TO BE ON THE BROADCAST:
THIS YEAR: Together, our Rotary International leaders will update us about Rotary's very latest efforts with our Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners to End Polio Now.

We will hear from Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo, Chair of the Rotary Foundation Holger Knaack, Pakistan's PolioPlus Chair Aziz Memon and Rotary International PolioPlus Chair Mike McGovern, as they talk about our efforts to eradicate polio world-wide.

Rotray's PolioPlus Chair Mike McGovern and Vice-Chair Valarie Wafer will also bring us the latest news  on Rotary's efforts and they will both participate in a panel discussion: What can we do to eradicate polio from the planet - Rotary's promise to the children of the world in 1988 - where have we come from and where do we go from here ?
PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE LIVE BROADCAST AT 7:00 PM.
ATTENTION ROTARIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD: INVITE YOUR CLUB MEMBERS, YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES AND NEIGHBOURS TO VIEW OUR Livestream Presentation from the Rotary Global Classroom at Durham College:
