GUEST SPEAKER  :

Name of Speaker: Ashley MacInnis from Oshawa Hospital Foundation for CEO Robert Baker.

Introduced By: Lennis Trotter

Remarks: Ashley apologized for Robert naker who could not be with us tonight as his father had passed away. Ashley did a remarkable job with her presentation. Lots of great news and excitement. New addition is needed to hospital (in the next 20 year period) .  The Fund raising is having a great year but many needs are requested.  The stats show growth in population and the senior demographics.  About 140k people came through the ER in Oshawa last year. There are over 1k volunteers that are greatly appreciated. Lakeridge Health is made up of hospitals and facilities in the four communities. Whitby, Oshawa, Bowmanville and Port Perry.

Ashley has invited us all over for coffee any time and her room number is A120.  Come visit!

Thanked By: Shawn Kellam

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The “ideal of service” is the key. It is an attitude that does not change from one version to the next. It is an attitude we all have, as Rotarians.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT, MAKE UP : Pat Dyck, our Club Secretary has a Rotary International Directory of all Rotary Clubs in the world, when and where they meet. Please mail or fax your make-ups to Pat Dyck, or give your make-up card to the attendance/registration officer at the next club meeting.
