GUEST SPEAKER
We had a Club Forum this week.
Jodi presented an idea for us to consider. At this year’s District Conference at Deerhurst, we should think about hosting a theme hospitality suite Friday Oct 25. Conference runs from Oct 25 – 27. Theme could be
‘golfer’s dream’ with beer, wine and “green” margaritas. Should be a fun event for our club. This item will be discussed at the May 1 Budget meeting.
Meeting Adjourned: 7:30 pm
Next Week: Tuesday, 30 April 2013 – Organ Donation and Tissue Awareness Speaker – Hilda Finnigan.
THE OBJECT OF ROTARY is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
The “ideal of service” is the key. It is an attitude that does not change from one version to the next. It is an attitude we all have, as Rotarians
.
